The Tempest...

And Mark Foley

"It's vile. It's more sad than anything else, to see someone with such potential throw it all down the drain because of a sexual addiction." — Mark Foley, speaking about President Bill Clinton, in 1998.

I thought the man was married and I was going to post about married men who are homosexual, rather than focus on the scandal. I'll save that for another time.

Interesting story concerning Foley, however. Indiscretions with male pages. (In the workplace no less.) Nothing I condone of course, but it's an election year tempest, especially since he is a Republican. The young men involved were late teens - young men - albeit, underage young men. It's so not pedophilia. It is much like the priest scandal - it's a homosexual scandal. The Dems are pro-gay. So the "P" word may get bandied about instead.

Ah! Those politicians!

(Foley is Catholic and pro-choice. He thinks pornography is just fine for adults as well. We better start screening our political candidates better.)
